I heard David Russell play this beautiful Chorale Prelude BWV 645 From Cantata 140 “Wachet auf, ruft die Stimme – Wake up, calls the Voice” and I thought I would make an easier arrangement without compromising the beauty of it so I made it in C-Major (Russell plays in D-Major) and standard tuning.

This is a great arrangement. I would recommend it to both those who wish to try this piece for the first time and those who once gave up playing it because of its technical difficulties. I bought David Russel’s transcription, but only to find that it was impossible to play. Peo’s new transcription will, I believe, make this piece within reach of amateur guitarists.
