In the Deep, Silent Woods (I Skovens Dybe, Stille Ro) is one of the most beautiful Danish folk songs around. Even American jazz musicians such as Kenny drew and the world famous bassist Niels Henning Ørsted Pedersen (known as NHØP) made arrangements of this song. I recently received a handwritten original by late guitarist Roland Dyens (1955-2016) with his arrangement of it! Unfortunately I cannot publish it here … yet. This is my go at it! A bit “jazzy” but it follows the traditional harmonies closely.
