Ave Maria (F. Schubert) (sheet music)
At last! I made an arrangement of Franz Schubert's famous “Ave Maria”. Ave Maria is a popular and much-recorded setting of the Latin text Ave Maria, originally published in 1853 as Méditation sur le Premier Prélude de Piano de S. Bach. (Another version of “Ave Maria” is by the French Romantic composer Charles Gounod especially designed to be superimposed over the Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, from Book I of J.S. Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier, written 137 years earlier).
I tried to make a “playable” version without making too many compromises. Often this is played with a tremolo in the melody. It is beautiful but very difficult for the average, or even advanced, player. I hope this arrangement will make many more guitarists play this beautiful piece.
